Every MIAH Collection bag tells a story.

It begins with a Mayan artisan sharing the art of handcraft – the delicate joining of leather, weaving fibers and creating a beauty that’s refined by your everyday adventures. {And yes, studying at the coffee shop or being a mom definitely qualify as adventure.} All fabrics are either upcycled from a vintage huipil [wēˈpēl] garment or woven by a Miah Designs artisan. 

Each bag connects us with that artisan who – like all of us – is laboring for something more: a family, an education, a hopeful future. We treasure these strong women, and it is such a joyful thing to design, plan and laugh with them. Our MIAH Collection family receives the fair living wage they deserve, and an additional percentage of your purchase is given back to their community to help educate and support those who need it most.

Finally, a MIAH Collection bag is unique. It echoes the Mayan culture, celebrates that special thing that points you to “this bag is the one for me,” and honors that One creative thread that weaves through all of us daughters, sisters, lovers, fighters and dreamers.
